“ To find ideas, find problems. To find problems, talk to people”. -Julie Zhou
Hi there! Nice to meet you! My name is Mark Fernandez and I am an UX/UI Designer who is also a second gen Filipino-American born and raised in the City of Angels, Los Angeles!
Fun fact about me: The thought of me becoming a designer was not in my bingo card at all when I first started attending college. Originally, I went through college as a Psychology major and would become a Substance Abuse Counselor soon after. But I would learn that I wanted to combine my experiences in Psychology and my love for technology. So after a talk in a boba shop with a friend, I joined an online bootcamp called Designlab and would graduate from the program on October 2024.
By utilizing my prior background as a psychology researcher, I utilize a human first perspective to answer the question of “Why?”. The reasons to why people think, act, and feel certain ways. And because of that, I believe that at the center of design are the users themselves.
Ever since I began my UI/UX design journey, I have been looking to improve steadily as a designer by sharpening my skills and taking any setbacks as learning opportunities. And I look forward to continue creating impactful and memorable user experiences in the future!
